Scout Sunday

This year, we will be celebrating Scout Sunday on February 7th. Scout Sunday is a day in February (usually near Scouting America’s anniversary on Feb. 8th) for Scouts to recognize their “Duty to God” by participating in services at their faith-based organizations, wearing uniforms, and performing service, highlighting the spiritual part of Scouting. It’s also a chance for faith communities to acknowledge Scouting’s values and for Scouts to give back through roles in the service, reinforcing the 12th point of the Scout Law: “A Scout is Reverent”.

At St. Luke’s UMC, our Scouts always help Troop 633 serve breakfast burritos to the congregation after the 9:30 service. Scouts also typically attend the service with their families in their uniforms and are recognized during the service.

St. Luke’s provides a tremendous service to our Pack with a free space to hold all of our meetings and activities, as well as storage space. This annual event is one of our Pack’s opportunities to give back to the Church to thank them for their service to our Pack. We encourage your family to attend if possible.
