About Our Pack
Cub Scout Pack 620 is comprised of multiple dens, with up to around 10 scouts each, by grade level. The entire pack meets together once a month on Pack night and sometimes for additional pack events that are scheduled.
Pack Night
Meetings are usually scheduled on the fourth Tuesday evening of each month from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The entire family is encouraged to attend the pack night meeting and support the Cub Scouts in their advancement. The pack night meeting program usually includes an opening and closing ceremony, recognition of scouts who have earned awards, and Pack announcements. The pack night is led by the Cubmaster with the help of the Assistant Cubmaster and the Den Leaders.
Den Meetings
Meetings are generally held at least once per month. Parents are asked to attend with scouts. Den meetings are planned and run by the den leader with the help of the assistant den leader(s). These meetings may be held at St. Luke’s UMC or at another location determined by the den leader.
Scouting America and Pack Dues
Anyone new to Scouts pays $85 to Scouting America when they sign up. This is the annual membership fee that is charged each year. You will be asked to renew your Scout’s membership and pay the yearly fee on the date that you signed your Scout up. There are normally discounts offered by Scouting America during our recruiting events so the cost for joining may be less. We’ll annouce any discounts during our recruiting events.
In addition to Scouting America dues, there are also dues to help defray the cost of Pack activities. Pack 620 has structured our dues based on the Scouting year, a 12-month period from August to July each year. This Scouting year, August 2025-July 2026, the dues will be $65.
We do not collect dues until after our popcorn fundraiser has been completed (which takes place between Aug.- Nov. each fall). Scouts sell popcorn to raise money to pay for their Pack activities which is covered, in part, with dues. If you register your Scout in a month other than August, the Pack dues will be prorated.
When you go to register your Scout through the Scouting America website, there is also the option of purchasing a yearly subscription to Scouts Life Magazine for $15.
Fundraising
Popcorn is an essential fundraiser for our Pack, which helps us to provide a year of great Pack activities (i.e. camping trips, derby, and rocket launch) and keep the cost of Pack dues down. Every Scout will be asked to participate in selling popcorn during our fundraiser from August through November. Families have a number of options. Sell as part of our pack at storefronts or you can take popcorn home to sell on your own to coworkers, friends, neighbors, and/or online.
Parent Support
Parents are asked to volunteer in some way to help the pack. There are many small roles that make a BIG difference or activities that we need assistance for just one time. More information is available on the Resources page.
