Pinewood Derby Weigh In Session

Bring your derby car to the pre-event weigh-in session!

We will be checking the weight of every derby car to ensure that no car exceeds the maximum weight of 5 ounces. Cars may not weigh over 5 ounces on the official scale. Once you have weighed in, you will leave your car and it will be stored until race day.

Note: You must bring your car to the weigh-in session to participate on Derby Day. Cars brought on the day of the Pinewood Derby (March 28th) will not be eligible to participate.

FOR CARS NEEDING ADJUSTMENTS: We will have stations set up to help get your car to meet the weight limit.

• What if my car is over the weight limit? We will have drills available. Cars over the weight limit can have wood material drilled out of the bottom to reduce their weight.
• What if my car is under the weight limit? It is good to get your car as close to 4.9-5.0 ounces as possible. We will have small pieces of weights that can be added to cars to bring up their weight. We will also have glue. You might bring pennies or other small weights from home too just in case you need to add weight to your car.
