On March 11, 2025, Cubmaster Steve Dean received his Wood Badge at St. Luke’s UMC at the Pack 620 March Crossover. Mr. Dean was supported in the ceremony by his family, including his son Andrew who placed the tartan neckerchief around his neck, and his wife Lori, who helped place the slider and wooden beads. His daughters Ashlyn and Samantha, assisted throughout the process, holding items for the ceremony.
Cubmaster Dean attended Wood Badge, an advanced, national leadership course open only to Scouting volunteers and professionals. Leaders who complete this leadership course are awarded a tartan neckerchief and wooden beads made of acacia wood on a leather lace.

On March 11, 2025, Pack 620 held our Arrow of Light ceremony and Crossover. Two Scouts received the Arrow of Light, the highest rank in Cub Scouts: Ashlyn Dean and Layla Garrido. The ceremony was organized by the AOL’s Den Leader Nicole Garrido. Both Scouts were welcomed into Troop 114G.

At our January 2025 Pack meeting, our Scouts were faced with the Marshmallow Challenge—build the tallest free-standing structure you can from some sticks of spaghetti, masking tape, and string. Then place one whole marshmallow on the top, without the structure collapsing. Our Scouts and their families worked well together, showing off their design creativity and put together some great structures!

Pack 620 had a great time at our first indoor overnight campout at Colorado Adventure Point (CAP) on February 22, 2025. Scouts and their siblings each got to do rock climbing, archery, and BB guns. Everyone then got ready for bed, setting out our sleeping bags, and watching a movie before bedtime. Breakfast was grab and go yogurts and bars. Thanks to Lori Dean and Melissa Denny for arranging this great adventure!
Our Scouts volunteered to help our community this holiday season. In particular:
- Using the $405 raised from Bingo Night, the AOLs bought toys and delivered them to Children’s Hospital.
- Scouts collected socks at our Holiday Celebration and donated them to The Sanctuary Westside in Colorado Springs.
- Scouts made holiday cards for residents at a local assisted living home.
- Scouts volunteered to hang Christmas decorations at St. Luke’s UMC as part of “Hanging of the Greens”.

On Veterans Day (Nov. 11, 2024), members of the AOL and Webelos Dens from Pack 620 and Pack 114 conducted the Flag Ceremony for the Veterans Day Breakfast held at Northridge Elementary. Scouts from other Dens in Pack 620 and Pack 114 also participated in the ceremony. Thanks to all our Scouts that participated. Thank you to all of our Veterans and their families for their service to our country.
On October 19, 2024, members of Pack 620 took a walk through the streets of Littleton to hear haunted tales about old town Littleton. The tour is a fundraiser for Troop 444, one of the troops our Scouts may join after they finish Cub Scouts. Our Scouts and their families had a great time hearing the spooky tales from our tour guide, a former Cub Scout from our Pack and his Dad who are now members of Troop 444. Thanks for a great tour Troop 444!

On October 6, 2024, members of Pack 620 helped the St. Luke’s Feeding the 5000 Food Drive sort canned goods and other food donations into cartons for shipping to food pantries. The Scouts and their family members sorted food for two hours and filled up one moving trunk and the half of another truck with boxes of food. Everyone had a great time. Our Pack also contributed to the food drive with donations. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Scouts from Pack 620 had a great time marching in the Highlands Ranch 4th of July Parade on July 4, 2024. Our Scouts marched with Packs from around the area and handed out candy and American flags to kids along the parade route.
In March 2024, Pack 620 held its Spring fundraiser to help support our Scouting activities. We choose Butter Braids because the Pack receives $6 from the sale of every $15 in pastry sold (that’s 40 percent back to our Pack!). Our goal this year was to raise between $1,800 – $2,000 if 30 scouts each sold 12 butter braids.
This year, our Pack sold 173 items and raised a profit of $1,090! Thirteen Scouts participated in the fundraising this year. Next year, we’re hoping we can have a slightly longer selling period and also do it before Spring Break so that we can make more money for Pack activities.
Thank you to everyone for supporting our Pack 620 Butter Braid Fundraising campaign!
